Slow, sorry but good
Format: Kindle
This was a slow moving book. Lots of character pov chapters, lots of superfluous descriptions and endless courtly appearances stalled this book to start. Once you get into the heart of the story, it takes off. Before you know it the book is done. My favorite character is Reyna. She is so strong. She is true to herself. She gets into a lot of trouble with her headstrong ways but it's entertaining. I have high hopes for Lorcan. He is honorable to a fault. Thane had turned out to be better than I thought but i still don't like him. Eislin is useless. Great plot twists at the end. I'm looking forward too book 2.

Very detailed! Beautiful world building! Strong Heroine!
Format: Kindle
Starts off a little slow and confusing with different POVโs, but starts to all come together towards the middle to make an elaborate plot line and makes it all worth it. Beautiful world building and attention to detail as well as great writing. The cliffhanger was gut wrenching! Canโt wait for the next book!

Interesting
Format: Kindle
This was a very captivating book once you got into it thoroughly. But the third person perspective was a bit hard to get used to. But as you got into it and followed the different characters, it was interesting and filled with intrigue, conflict and forbidden love.
I canโt wait to read the next one and to complete the series.

Great start
Format: Kindle
I loved this book! It's funny but still deals with tough themes, like chronic illness, a serial killer on the loose, and a dash of self-harm. The guys are interesting and distinct, we don't know too much about them yet. It does end on a really terrible cliffhanger but on the bright side the next book is out and I believe the series is complete. I have enjoyed both of these authors separately and this is a great team up!

Fudge!
Format: Kindle
Titles arenโt my strong suit. Sorry not sorry.
That ending has me completely frustrated book two isnโt out yet. Just throwing that out there.
First thing first, this is a high school book where the lead is under 18. Yea yea sheโs about month from being an adult, but I canโt say I wouldโve even opened the file if Iโd realized. Itโs not a smut fest or anything, but there is sexual tension as each party figures out their emotions.
That being said, itโs a good book. There are some troubling parts, like how the supes come into their powers at 13, but most of those are dealt with in a way that makes sense. Kian is the exception. His whole arc pisses me off, especially since no one stepped in. Reflecting back on real world situations, ten or so years ago, I can see it happening, but it still makes me sick. Which, Iโm sure was the whole damn point.
For the most part, Courting Darkness is a fun read. I found myself laughing along with most of the set up. By the time it started getting serious, Iโd grown to like the characters enough it held an impact.
Iโll be adding book two to my list for when it comes out.
