Yes, it will get destroyed. No, it isn't a waste of your money.
Style: Animal Sound, Size: Medium
Okay, I just wanted to say I've bought this item three times even tho my huge super chewer dogs inevitably destroy it, and here's why: It's NOT a chew toy!
Pretty much *ANY* toy will not survive a strong chewer unless it is made from an indestructible material, and indestructible materials are often dangerous for doggy teeth.
The noises this thing makes entices dogs to be extra violent on it.
The trick is, you need to supervise them with the toy and if they move from chasing/bouncing it to "gnawing furiously" remove it and replace it with a safe treat toy to chew on (like a rawhide or antler, or a kong stuffed with frozen/difficult to remove treats) to satisfy their chewing needs on a safer item. This will extend the life of the toy. This way, the only damage it takes is from them mouthing/throwing it, which is what it is designed to withstand. This method is the only safe way to play with just about any play toy if you have SUPER chewers.
There are many toys out there that will last longer, however, this one makes noise and that is super valuable to enrich your dogs' life. In essence, you're paying (insert current price of this item) to get several hours of SUPERVISED play time out of this toy over the course of several months.
As far as noise makers go, this is only one of two toys I have found to hold up long enough to be worth the price. Go for it.

Such short fun!
Style: Animal Sound, Size: Medium, Style: Animal Sound, Size: Medium
So it lasted one evening. The concept is great and I expected this one to last much longer because of the tire cover. It stopped making noises about 3 hours after I opened it. Keep in mind they slept for 1 of those hours and went for a walk came back and played but ignored it because it stopped making noises. I've attached a photo. Keep in mind it arrived yesterday, gave it to the dogs at 6:30 pm. By 9:30 pm, it was done. I would expect this level of damage from a larger dog, but I have two mini Aussies. Only one of them would go near it. I also wouldn't care if the tire part got a little wear and tear but this is extremely short playtime. I also purchased the ball. It still works, so I may have gotten a defective one. Not sure. I'll return and try again. I posted a photo because the boy dog was totally into it. The plain ball that talks is a HUGE hit. It got lost but suddenly responded to their noises. It was so funny. I'll have to write a review for the plain ball.

X-TireBall Durability
Style: Jingle, Size: Medium
If you have a small dog or a dog that doesn't chew, this is a nice toy to play with.
The labradoodle that received this ball loved it however, since he is a chewer, this product didn't last 10 minutes before it started to fall apart.
The danger is that the dog can swallow the rubber and it will be an expensive trip to the vet.
Summary:
If your dog chews -DO NOT buy this product.
If your dog does not chew - then it's a playful toy.. a cat will like to play with it as the bell is not too loud
I was disappointed that the product said it was for dogs that chew but wasn't

Dog loves!
Style: Jingle, Size: Small
A neighbor found this in town for her dog, who didn't like the ball. She tossed it over the fence for our dog who absolutely loved the ball! The dog ran around the house trying to hide it & bury it, but would go retrieve it after a minute or two and repeat the process! Went to try to find a new one in town, but couldn't, so ordered it. Unfortunately, the ball is made out of hard plastic, which didn't hold up too well to a jack russell's terrior teeth. The ball would be perfect if made out of the "kong" rubber. We ended up using black electrician's tape until the ball totally fell apart...the dog was so sad -- looking all over for her ball, just had to get her another one.

Another winner for my pup; wish batteries lasted a bit longer
Style: Animal Sound, Size: Medium
My dog loves these babble balls, but we always have to stuff them inside another, softer ball so that he can play with them. This tire ball lets him have something he can grab hold of to carry the ball around and tug with us. Yes, these are annoying, but it's a small price to pay when they bring the dogs such joy.
I was concerned, based on other reviews, that the tire would be a hard plastic. It is plastic but it's not hard; it's flexible and "squishes" enough for my dog to grab the toy.
We have several babble balls, and we replace the batteries pretty frequently. That is my only complaint with these; the way my dog plays, we maybe get a week out of the batteries if I let him have it all the time. I take it away from him after about 15 minutes because he gets too excited with it and because he will wear the batteries down so quickly. It takes little L44 button batteries when you need to replace them.
So far he is very happy with this toy, and I'm happy with the price. He loves it.
Update 11/7: both the tire and the ball are dead now. They shredded the tire after about 3 weeks, but the ball was ok. Normally, we just replace the batteries in Babble balls. However, the screws were impossible to get out of this one, and when we got them out by breaking the plastic, all of the electrical parts were rusty from saliva. We replaced the batteries to no avail. I'm a little disappointed because this was a less annoying one than the other two, and there had to be a design flaw because we got long lives out of them (one is still going strong).
